Established

The Holliston Lions Club was founded on January 23, 1941 under sponsorship of the Medford Lions Club. The Medford president that year was Elmer Tefler. His brother, Walter, was a charter member of the new club. That first Charter night occured on March 11, 1941 at the Odd Fellows Hall in Holliston.

The Holliston Lions Club has a rich tradition of community service and helping those less fortunate while also supporting District, State and International programs.

Throughout the years, Holliston provided many district leaders, including Past District Governors Ken Rooney and Hank Tamagno. The Club sponsored the Medfield and Framingham Lions Clubs, and most recently in 2005, the New England College of Optometry Lions Club.

Holliston has sponsored Holliston Cub Scout Pack #2 for 50 years. Sixteen Melvin Jones Fellowships have been presented to members for outstanding service; ten are still active. Lion Ron West was the first recipient of the prestigious MLREF Sight Award.

The Club has been recognized several times as the Best Large Club in the District and the Outstanding Large Club in the State.

THE RAFFLE:  The date was Saturday, October 28th, 2006 at the Medway VFW Hall on Holliston Street, Medway.  This event was a big success and promises to be even better next year. Three people went home as winners of the grand prize, taking home $3,333.33 each.  Many others went home with smaller prizes as well.  It was an exciting evening for all who attended.

This was a night to remember.  Many thanks extended to all who participated.
